ARTIST Alessandra Gusso

ALESSANDRA GUSSO was born in Caorle, she lives and works in Cordenons, IItaly. She attended the Art School of Turin and subsequently graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice following the painting courses of Emilio Vedova. She was a teacher in middle school and in the artistic field she participated in numerous art exhibitions both locally and regionally as well as nationally. Recently she is dedicating herself to the potential of art therapy and the Caviardage method. Initially her style was figurative, very free and non-geometric, for a long time she dedicated herself to experimenting with the female figure from which originated the long series of Venuses and Nikes (Greek winged goddess symbol of victory), represented in a very graphic with a sinuous, fluid and decisive line. In the following years she landed on abstract and gestural painting that evokes details and perceptions that arise from the emotions and sensations that the surrounding environment arouses in her. The sign is the protagonist of her paintings and derives from natural elements such as air and water (which very often is the protagonist of her works and springs from Sandra’s unconscious like the gushing of the waters of the historic flood that hit the town of Caorle , to which the artist is closely linked, in 1966), from the evolution of the seasons and events that are part of everyday life. The artist paints on canvas but also on paper, using inks, acrylics and oils, papers and fabrics, plasters, ecoline, graphite.

ALESSANDRA GUSSO Originaria di Caorle, vive ed opera a Cordenons. Frequenta il Liceo Artistico di Torino e successivamente si diploma all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia seguendo i corsi di pittura di Emilio Vedova. E’ stata insegnante alle scuole medie e in ambito artistico ha partecipato a numerose rassegne artistiche sia a livello locale e regionale che nazionale. Recentemente si sta dedicando alle potenzialità dell’arteterapia e del metodo Caviardage. Inizialmente il suo stile era figurativo, molto libero e non geometrico, per molto tempo, si è dedicata alla sperimentazione della figura femminile da cui ha avuto origina la lunga serie delle Veneri e delle Nike (dea alata greca simbolo della vittoria), rappresentate in maniera molto grafica con una linea sinuosa, fluida e decisa. Negli anni successivi è approdata ad una pittura astratta e gestuale che evoca dei dettagli e delle percezioni che nascono dalle emozioni e dalle sensazioni che suscita in lei l’ambiente circostante. Il segno è il protagonista dei suoi quadri e deriva dagli elementi naturali come l’aria e l’acqua (che molto spesso è protagonista delle sue opere e scaturisce dal suo inconscio come lo sgorgare delle acque della storica alluvione che ha colpito la cittadina di Caorle, a cui l’artista è molto legata, nel 1966), dal divenire delle stagioni e degli eventi che fanno parte della quotidianità. L’artista dipinge su tela ma anche su carta, utilizza le chine, gli acrilici e oli, carte e stoffe, i gessi, le ecoline, la graffite.
