ARTIST Marlene Luce

Marlene Luce is a photographer-artist who, as a result of extensive travels throughout Europe and the Middle East, was able to capture the cultural aspect and history of great civilizations while bringing to light the beauty of the natural world. Throughout her career, Marlene Luce exhibited in Montreal, New York, Paris, London, Cairo, Tunis & Sidi Bou Saïd in Tunisia, Algiers, Florence, and Lake Como in Italy.

She created an artistic technique to produce new, unique works of art that consist of fused images transferred on canvas and painted over in oil paint, highlighting the painterly aspect of her imagery. This process referred to as ”Pintography” combines the timelessness and classicism of photography with a modern medium.

As impressionists realized that there was more to painting than that close to reality, Marlene Luce takes her creativity beyond photography whereby a fusion of images together with that of colour creates a world of fantasy. A world of dreams created in a fantasy where our humanity lives in harmony with that of the natural world.

With the rise of technology, we have disconnected ourselves from the natural world yet connecting to nature, the people, and the places we inhabit cultivate a socially sustainable environment. The natural world shapes our human sense of beauty & harmony and to live in harmony with the natural world is what gives sense to our humanity.

Marlene Luce è una fotografa-artista che, a seguito di lunghi viaggi in Europa e Medio Oriente, ha saputo catturare l’aspetto culturale e la storia di grandi civiltà portando alla luce la bellezza del mondo naturale. Nel corso della sua carriera, Marlene Luce ha esposto a Montreal, New York, Parigi, Londra, Il Cairo, Tunisi e Sidi Bou Saïd in Tunisia, Algeri, Firenze e sul Lago di Como in Italia.

Ha creato una tecnica artistica per produrre opere d’arte nuove e uniche che consistono in immagini fuse trasferite su tela e dipinte con pittura ad olio, evidenziando l’aspetto pittorico delle sue immagini. Questo processo denominato “Pintografia” combina l’atemporalità e il classicismo della fotografia con un mezzo moderno.

Mentre gli impressionisti si rendevano conto che c’era di più nella pittura oltre a quella vicina alla realtà, Marlene Luce porta la sua creatività oltre la fotografia per cui una fusione di immagini insieme a quella del colore crea un mondo di fantasia. Un mondo di sogni creato in una fantasia dove la nostra umanità vive in armonia con quella del mondo naturale.

Con l’avvento della tecnologia, ci siamo disconnessi dal mondo naturale ma connettendoci alla natura, alle persone e ai luoghi in cui abitiamo coltiviamo un ambiente socialmente sostenibile. Il mondo naturale modella il nostro senso umano di bellezza e armonia e vivere in armonia con il mondo naturale è ciò che dà senso alla nostra umanità.
