ARTIST Simona Oliviero

Simona Oliviero lives in Naples and studied art at the Liceo Artistico di Napoli, she specialized in the goldsmith sector at Tari ‘, Simona worked as a model maker and jewelery designer. For some time she also collaborated with the fashion industry but her true passion is painting. She paints on any surface: paper, canvas, wood, walls etc. Her media of choice is arcylic, even if she sometimes uses oil and watercolour.

Speaking of her art, she tells us: “The main purpose of my paintings is to try to tell a story through an image, impressing my emotions on the canvas”.

For Simona the canvas is above all a communication tool, the decorative aspect is placed in the background. One of her most important sources of inspiration is found in dreams, of which she speaks to us: “it does not mean that I tend to dream my paintings before imprinting them on canvas, it means that the painting represents the visual result of an unconscious message, with a dreamlike character and a surreal, sometimes naive style. After a first design phase, I do not follow a precise pattern, I approach myself in a rather instinctive way. Fundamental for me is the balance of colors: even the colors alone and without subject, managed in the same way that’s right, can excite. That’s why I always say, to those who ask me: it’s not easy to paint from life, when what you have inside is stronger than reality “.

Simona Oliviero vive a Napoli. Ha conseguito la maturità artistica presso il Liceo Artistico di Napoli, e si è specializzata nel settore orafo al Tari’, ha lavorato come modellista e disegnatrice di gioielli. Per qualche tempo ha collaborato anche con il settore della moda ma la sua vera passione è la pittura. Dipinge su qualsiasi superficie: carta, tela, legno, muri ecc. Il suo strumento d’elezione è l’arcilico, anche se le capita di usare l’olio e acquerello.

Parlando della sua arte, ci racconta: “Lo scopo principale della mia pittura è cercare di raccontare una storia attraverso un’immagine, imprimendo le mie emozioni sulla tela”.

Per Simona la tela è innanzitutto uno strumento di comunicazione, l’aspetto decorativo è posto in secondo piano. Una delle sue fonti di ispirazione più importante si trova nei sogni, dei quali ci parla: “significa che tendo a sognare i miei quadri prima di imprimerli su tela, vuol dire che il quadro rappresenta il risultato visivo di un messaggio inconscio, dal carattere onirico ed uno stile surreale, talvolta naif. Superata una prima fase progettuale, non seguo uno schema preciso, mi approccio in maniera piuttosto istintiva. Fondamentale per me è l’equilibrio dei colori: anche i colori da soli e senza soggetto, gestiti nel modo giusto, possono emozionare. È per questo che dico sempre, a chi me lo chiede: none è facile dipingere dal vero, quando quello che hai dentro è più forte della realtà”.
